Fish Farming Specs

As of Jan 1, 2013 we have included our new S-12 systems using 8’ round tanks in the design package.  If you have read my website you
already know I have never been a fan of using round tanks. However, after much research and development over the past year, my
Sons at Burdette Industries have developed a new injection system and solids capture ports for the round tanks that make them clean
as well or better than our standard S-09 rectangular tanks.  This system can be set up with from 1 to 4 tanks set in a grid. This new
system uses a revolutionary water and oxygen injection system that you can either build your self or purchase a more advanced model
from Burdette Industries.  The entire system can be built by you from parts you find near by including the round tanks. The tanks are
easily modified to use this design.  In the demonstration my sons put on for me to get my blessing, they covered the bottom of the tank
with potting soil, which has the same consistency of fish poop. Within two minutes after the flow was turned on at least 95% of
everything on the bottom was pushed into the two capture points in the bottom of the tanks and removed from the system.  As they
said, when the tanks is full of fish, the fish will disrupt the 5% that was left and it will go to the ports as well.  Using this along with the
surface over flow pipe and this tank will clean as well of better than our standard rectangular tanks.  This system with 1200 gal tanks
has a holding capacity of 800-1000 pounds of total bio mass which means an annual production of between 1600 and 2,000 pounds per
tank. With the solids filters and the bio filters built as shown in the design and the plumbing configuration, which is the same as in our S-
09 system, you could get over 6,000 pounds annually from a 4 tank system in a 30'x 30' space. This is a little lower than our S-09 system
but it is a lot cheaper. These systems also can be fitted with all of the bells and whistles found in the S-09 including a new smaller
especially designed, less expensive, drum filter just for this system.  This system running with 4 tanks has the ability to provide enough
fish waste to produce approximately 75,000 pounds of veggies annually in an aquaponics system.  As with the S-2005 and the S-09
systems, it uses advanced filtration in the fish tanks and digesters in the aquaponics side providing efficient management for both
sides.
